Artist statement:

This Upcycled Light Sculpture is part of an ongoing Mycoremediation 2050 series. This illuminated sculpture forms one element of a larger installation exploring ecological futures and material transformation. Released as a standalone artwork, it retains its connection to the broader installation while existing as a complete sculptural piece in its own right.

Created from reclaimed plastic waste, the work reimagines discarded materials as living, organic forms inspired by mycoremediation, the regenerative process through which certain mushroom species can break down pollutants and help restore damaged environments.

The work reflects on our relationship with waste, while proposing possibilities for renewal, adaptation, and coexistence in our changing environments.

- Each light sculpture is fitted with an external power cable and inline switch for easy plug-and-play installation.
